About Mitzvot of MetroWest
Mitzvot of MetroWest is coordinated by The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life. For over ten years synagogues and organizations have gathered together to match up pre-Bar and Bat Mitzvah age students with mitzvah opportunities. Registration is done through synagogue religious schools, local day schools and individual families are invited to register as well. Over 1,000 students, parents and teachers will gather on January 25, 2009 for this years event.
Pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvah students and their families have the opportunity to meet representatives from over 25 organizations and learn how the students can get involved in a variety of projects. Incorporating acts of kindness is an important component of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration. This program introduces families to the number of ways social action can enhance the festivities.
This website is a guide to these Mitzvah opportunities. For each organization we have prepared a brief description of the organization, the Mitzvah opportunity and contact information for that organization. This website will serve as a resource not only for B’nai Mitzvah-age students, but any teen or family looking for a meaningful social action project.
